Balancing Family, Work and Chronic Illness

    The key factor to balancing family and work when one has a chronic illness such as diabetes, fibromyalgia, arthritis, migraines, etc. is Self Care. We should all be kind to ourselves and make sure we get time to rest and slow down. However, it just doesn’t seem so easy with working 20-40 hours a week, plus taking kids to and from school, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, plus participate in kid’s activities such as soccer, brownies, boy scouts, dance, swim, and the list goes on.

Prosperity

    In times of stress, feeling we need help but no one to turn to, we often turn to a Higher Power. We all do this in different ways. For some, it may be going to church, getting out in nature, turning within, or meditating.

    With the uncertainty of our economy it has many a little unsettled and looking for spiritual help. Just as in any of the recovery programs, AA, CA, NA, OA, they all promote turning to a Higher Power and learning to trust that we are being guided for our greatest and highest good, no matter what the appearances.

To Watch the News or Not to Watch the News

    With all that is going on in the world, our country, our state, the economy, our society, illnesses, diseases, and our own life, it can all get a little overwhelming. It is not surprising we may not want to watch the news as it just adds to our anxiety. Then we may second guess ourselves, as friends or family may be so on top of all that is going on in the news. They may even question us as to why we don’t watch the news as we “need to be informed”.

Using Affirmations in Daily Life

    To affirm is to declare positively, to assert solemnly. An affirmation is the assertion of the truth or existence of something. Now, let’s have a look at our inner dialogue. What is our inner dialogue about? Is it about worries, fears, lack, doomsday scenarios, or do we override the negative with positive ideas, dreams and statements? 

Create the Life YOU Want

    Has something ever happened, either good or bad and you said, “I knew this would happen”? Sometimes it is our intuition, and sometimes we believed that this would happen and sure enough it did. What we ardently believe will happen. This is why we need to be careful as to what thoughts we entertain. Our mind is very good at picking up images. Every time we look in the mirror or step on the scale we may tell ourselves, I need to loose weight.

Affirmation of the Day

As my child goes to school each day, I know my child is always in the presence of God. My child is safe, secure, divinely guided, guarded and directed.
